Even when the team took a huge detour, he did not give up.

His determination is what keeps the mission from failing.

Intelligent

Having a degree in engineering, a superior science intellect, as well as the ability to fly aircraft.

Cooper comes up with very smart plans and solutions when their team comes across trouble.

Brave

He dropped his pod out.

He knows that doing it could mean that he will never see his kids again, yet he does it anyway, so that other people will.

To begin, Cooper constantly puts himself at risk for the sake of protecting his crewmates.
