Ordinal numbers are used to indicate the position or order of items in a sequence. Typically, they are formed by adding specific suffixes to cardinal numbers, with some exceptions based on unique spelling rules.

Exceptions

twelve - twelfth
five - fifth
three - third
two - second
one - first

When expressed as figures, the last two letters of the written word are added to the ordinal number

fourth = 4th
third = 3rd
second = 2nd
first = 1st

Just add -th to the cardinal numbe

four - fourth eleven - eleventh
